A keyword density checker is one of the most misused tools in SEO, so it is worth being straight about what this one is for. There is no density target to hit and no search engine that rewards one. What the numbers are genuinely good at is showing you what a page is actually about — which is often not what you intended.\n\nRun a draft through it and the top phrases should read like a summary of the topic. When they do not, the page has drifted. When one term sits far above everything else, the copy usually reads repetitively, and that is the real cost — not a penalty, just prose a reader gives up on.\n\nUnlike a plain word counter, this analyses two- and three-word phrases as well as single terms, because real search queries are phrases. Common function words are filtered out, but carefully: a single stop word is dropped, while a phrase is only dropped when every word in it is a stop word, so 'state of the art' survives intact. Everything runs in your browser. Pair it with the Readability Checker to see how the writing reads, and the Meta Tag Generator to align your title and description with what the page is really about.
