Copy a paragraph out of a PDF and paste it anywhere and it arrives shattered — a hard line break at the end of every visual line, words split across a hyphen, and blank lines in odd places. This happens because a PDF does not store paragraphs at all; it stores each line at a coordinate, so copying turns the page layout into line breaks. The default Keep paragraphs mode is the one that matters: it joins the lines that were wrapped inside a paragraph while preserving the blank lines that separate one paragraph from the next, so you get readable prose rather than one enormous run-on line. Switch to Remove every break when you genuinely do want a single line, or Remove blank lines only to tidy spacing without touching the structure. An option to rejoin hyphenated words repairs the 'conver-' and 'sion' problem before the breaks are removed, and you can join lines with a space, nothing, or a comma — the last turning a pasted column of values into a usable list.
